About the event

Meet the People of CMLIE!

Dr Larry Scripp Founding CEO and his Associate director of teacher training Jean Lim are arriving from Boston to share the excitement of establishing the creation of the first community-based Comprehensive Musical Literacy in Education program in Africa beginning with the False Bay Primary School in Cape Town!


Earlier in May 2025, Dr. Scripp and Headmaster Desmond Engelbrecht agreed to begin building this exciting program of daily musical literacy lessons designed to advance language, math and social emotion literacy skill supported by Tyme Training Management principals Deidré and Nehemia Doolabh.


Together this team that CMLIE program designer, teachers and research scientists first developed studying and working at Harvard University, New England Conservatory, and University of Minnesota over the past 25 years now expect literacy will also most likely lead to measurably improved academic performance in language, math and social-emotional attributes in ways that can susta…
